2026 Summer Camp
🔬 Creative Science: Art Meets Experimentation
What does science look like? This week, campers find out.
Creative Science camp is where the lab meets the art studio. Every day, campers explore a real scientific concept, and then make something with it. Paint that fizzes. Sculptures that balance on a single point. Jellyfish that float. Balloon-powered vehicles that race across the room. The science isn't just talked about, it's experienced, built, and worn home on their hands.
This is the camp for kids who love to get messy, ask "why," and make something they've never made before.
What campers will explore and create:
- ⚖️ Center of Mass & Balance – Build sculptures and mobiles that balance on a single point, then figure out why they work
- 🧲 Magnetism – Use magnetic forces as a painting tool to create one-of-a-kind art that moves itself
- 🌈 Light Refraction & Chromatography – Chase rainbows through filters and watch colors travel across paper in ways that seem like magic
- 🪼 Buoyancy – Craft floating jellyfish and test what sinks, what floats, and what surprises everyone
- 🚀 Force & Motion – Build balloon-powered vehicles and race them across the room while learning what makes them go
- 🎨 Color Mixing & Chemical Reactions – Create fizzing, bubbling artwork powered by science
Campers will develop key STEAM skills as they explore:
- Scientific Inquiry – Predicting, observing, and explaining what happens and why
- Creative Expression – Using science as an artistic medium, not just a textbook subject
- Fine Motor Skills – Building, sculpting, and crafting with a wide variety of materials
- Critical Thinking – Making sense of results and trying again when something doesn't work
- Science Vocabulary – Learning real terms through hands-on discovery, not memorization
Campers are grouped by age so every curious maker, whether they love art, science, or both, is engaged, challenged, and having fun all week long.
